FlavorArena (“we,” “us,” “our”) operates flavorarena.com. This page explains what information we collect when you visit, and how we use it. We’ve kept this short and specific to what this site actually does, not a generic template.
What we don’t collect
FlavorArena has no user accounts, no registration, and no on-site commenting system. You can browse, search, and read every recipe comparison without giving us any personal information.
What we do collect
- Standard server logs. Like virtually every website, our hosting infrastructure automatically logs basic technical data (IP address, browser type, pages requested) for security and performance purposes.
- Search terms. If you use the search bar or ingredient filters, that query is used to return results and is not linked to any personal identity.
YouTube embeds
Every video on FlavorArena plays through YouTube’s own embedded player. When you press play, YouTube (operated by Google) may set its own cookies and collect data according to Google’s Privacy Policy. We don’t control this data collection and it happens on Google’s side, not ours — we only embed the player.
How our recipe rankings are built
To rank recipes, we analyze publicly available viewer comments on the YouTube videos we feature, using automated tools to identify patterns like reported cooking success, reliability, and repeat-watching intent. This analysis is performed on public comment text already posted by YouTube users on YouTube itself — we do not collect comments from FlavorArena visitors. Advertising and affiliate links
FlavorArena is not currently running advertising. If and when we do (for example, through Google AdSense), those ads may use cookies to personalize the ads you see, governed by Google’s advertising policies. We also may, in the future, include affiliate links to cooking equipment mentioned in a recipe video — if you click one and make a purchase, we may earn a commission at no extra cost to you. We’ll update this policy before either goes live.
Children’s privacy
FlavorArena is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children.
Changes to this policy
If we materially change how we handle data — most likely when advertising or affiliate links go live — we’ll update this page and revise the date above.
